Our Story

First chartered in 1956, Teamsters Local #238 credit union started in a small one-room office in the Teamsters 238 union hall. In 1987, the credit union moved to its own location located next door to the Teamsters 238 hall.

From those humble beginnings servicing Teamsters, the credit union grew and expanded to include members of Iron Workers 89, Laborers 43, Insulators 81, Carpenters 308, Painters 447, and IBEW 405. As our membership has grown, so have our services, including offering online, and mobile banking to better serve our membership across the state of Iowa.

The Credit Union Difference

Unlike a traditional bank, each member is an equal owner of our credit union. As a member-owned, not-for-profit cooperative, your assets work for your fellow union brother and sister members instead of corporate shareholders.

Cooperative ownership is how Teamsters Local #238 Credit Union provides products and services for members, like vehicle loans at some of the most competitive rates in the area.

We understand Union because we are Union

Like you, we are union inside and out. At Teamsters Credit Union, you’ll be assisted by friendly Unionized teller staff. In the event of a strike, members can put loan payments on hold.

Our Commitment

As our membership, assets, and services expand, Teamsters #238 Credit Union’s commitment remains the same – to provide the best services possible to our union family.
